Members of SAVA conduct research into the village's history. We are all volunteers so the areas investigated reflect the specific interests of the individuals involved. The outcome of the research often forms the basis for an article in 'Steeple Aston Life'. We also follow up queries generated by visitors to the Village History Centre and to this website, as well as finding out more about any items donated to the archive. We have also drawn on the expertise of Paul Clark from the Oxfordshire Buildings Record to compile profiles on the architectural development of some of the older properties within the village.
Each year we conduct research for our annual exhibition, drawing on items from the archive but also searching out further information from other sources to expand our knowledge of the history of our village.
If we undertake research on behalf of others, there may be a charge, especially for providing copies of documents.
